Modern Abode is a home that brings the soul of Benares into the heart of Gurugram. Spread across 18,000 sq ft in the quiet lanes of DLF Phase IV, this residence is a poetic dialogue between cultural heritage and contemporary living. Bespoke teakwood arches reminiscent of Rajasthan forts frame the riaaz area, while paintings of ghats and Tanjore by the homeowner add a deeply personal legacy of Indian artistry. Natural materials—stone, lime plaster, warm wood, cotton, silk, and wool—anchor the design, creating an atmosphere that feels both grounded and luxurious. It is a home where heritage is not preserved as nostalgia but lived in with serenity and belonging
The design journey began with a vision: to create a home that celebrates Indian tradition while embracing modern comfort. We started by carving spaces that reflect cultural resonance—like the bespoke wooden arches and curated art—infusing grandeur and intimacy in equal measure. The palette leaned heavily on organic materials, their textures adding warmth and tactility throughout the home. Lime plastered walls, woven textiles, and rich wood set a timeless base, while contemporary detailing introduced modern fluidity. Outdoor terraces were softened with natural finishes and fabrics, offering calm escapes in the midst of city life. Step by step, the home evolved into a narrative of heritage, artistry, and soulful living.
